While the above areas have certified Huddles, the Team is rapidly growing in many areas, and Huddle formation would be an easy thing to accomplish if one or two people felt led and were willing to step forward and lead the group in their areas. The steps to form a Huddle are listed below, and feel free to contact us for further information.

FCA Endurance Huddles
“Huddle” is a term FCA has used since 1966 to describe a small local group or chapter of individuals who have a heart for Christ, athletics, and the mission and vision of FCA. Huddles are a group of people who unite and gather locally for Fellowship, Spiritual Growth, and Outreach. They provide an opportunity for people to come together regularly to strengthen each other, accomplish things that individuals couldn’t alone, and provide a base group to bring others into, both Christian and non-.
Because Huddles provide so many growth and ministry opportunities, FCA and FCA-E highly encourage their formation and development. As a small local group tied and working together in your community, you will experience more, accomplish more, have a much bigger impact on everyone (both saved and non-), and just have more fun!
If you are an individual or part of a group that would like to start a Huddle, below are the basics on how to due this. This is the basic information on how to start a FCA Adult Huddle. It is the exact same process for a FCA Endurance Huddle, but your group will have an endurance-specific focus. For example, you will go through the same certification process and might do some of the same activities as a regular FCA Adult Huddle (Bibles studies, fellowship, training, volunteering/serving, etc), but you might also choose to do fellowship while training together, volunteer at endurance events, get training on how to share Christ during race expos, etc.
How to start a Huddle:
1. Pray. Seek the Lord's will for your area and the calling God has put in your heart. Pray for his ministry in your area, and for those he would bring to serve and be ministered to/through this Huddle.
2. Make sure there isn’t already a Huddle going in your area.
It obviously makes sense to join a Huddle that’s already going if one exists. This saves time and other resources as well as unites more individuals under one banner. This includes both FCA-E Huddles and other Adult Huddles. If there is already an Adult Huddle in your area, talk to its leaders about joining. Perhaps you could run an endurance component to what they are already doing. Again, we’re just trying to unite people interested in ministry through sports. To see if there are any regular adult Huddles in your area, contact your local FCA staff person. If you don’t know who this is, their contact information is available by going to http://www.fca.org/ and clicking on “Find Local FCA Staff” on the right side. To see if there are any FCA Endurance Huddles in your area, scroll to the top of this page.
3. Have all of the Leaders (or potential Leaders) fill out a FCA Ministry Leader Application (MLA). This can be done easily online at www.fca.org/hotpicks/mla.lsp
4. Contact Chris Anderson to discuss your heart, calling, and local vision.
5. Certify the Huddle. This can be done online at www.fca.org/certify or by calling FCA Ministry Services at 1-800-289-0909.
To become a certified Huddle costs $20.00. This fee covers the Huddle Manual you will receive (full of resources to help you lead and develop your Huddle), FCA Huddle resource development, and very importantly, liability insurance during events for FCA staff and volunteers, FCA, and FCA Endurance. Certification lasts 1-year and expires on July 31. Any Huddle certified after April 1 is certified through the end of the next year (get 4 months free), but won’t receive its Ministry Kit until the next year (roughly August 15). 800. |
